You have to try a different build or change playstyle to get a new experience.
Mechanics are old, there's literally no endgame and if you play through the story (you have to do it three consencutive times with rising difficulty to beat the game) there's no new content.
then chances are you won't be happy with the game and want something more modern. If you haven't played the original game and don't have fond memories of time spent with friends on LAN play etc. Whether it is worth it or not depends on you. But nothing major from a perspective of a casual player. they added a new runeword and made some balane changes, ceeating a craze in ranks of players who spent 1000s of hours in the game and for many it was a new life to an old game.
